In response, we created dedicated support services for trans people and employed a specialist trans worker. DF is also becoming the central support organisation for most lesbian, gay and bisexual organisations and networks in Derbyshire and we offer our services in time and resources to groups, such as Derby LGBT Community Forum and University of Derby Students’ Union LGBT Society.

Recreation
Recreation is a locally run weekly support/social group run for Trans persons by Trans persons, meeting in The Mezze Bar at Broadway Cinema. We aim to provide a safe and sociable environment for those with gender identity issues to meet with peers and have much-needed private space to express themselves.The group is inclusive of all ages and incorporates all people under the spectrum of Transgender/Trans*.We currently meet Thursdays 6pm – 8pm so come and say hello!
